In a press conference held today at the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, it was announced that Abu Dhabi Ramadan Barza, will be organized starting on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre with the participation of the Statistics Center-Abu Dhabi (SCAD), Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, Abu Dhabi Terminals, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) and a number of government and semi-government agencies, in cooperation with Code Red Events and Exhibitions Company.The Department of Economic Development and its strategic partners unveiled the five-session program of Ramadan Barza, where the first meeting led by the Department of Economic Development, will be dedicated to discuss The Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030… Reality and Future, and will be held on Tuesday August 9, the second session, Abu Dhabi Census 2011 ... Complete Data to Support Comprehensive Development, will be led by the Statistics Center-Abu Dhabi (SCAD) on Wednesday and the third session entitled Quality Infrastructure and its Contribution to Achievement of the 2030 Vision scheduled for August 16 will be led by Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council. Abu Dhabi Terminals will lead the fourth session on August 17 to highlight the “Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone (KPIZ). The fifth closing session of Abu Dhabi Ramadan Barza, will be a forum for strategic partners, government and semi-government entities, for reviewing the most prominent government projects, strategies, plans and programs that aim in their entirety to achieve the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, and the objectives of the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to be among the best five governments in the world. Participant in the press conference included HE Abu Bakr Abdullah Al-Amoudi, the Executive Director of the Statistics Sector of (SCAD), HE Anas Joudah Barghouthi, Executive Director of Markets and Consumers Services Sector of Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council and Magda Al Hammadi, Communication Management Team Coordinator at the Department of Economic Development, Chairperson of the Executive Committee for Organizing of Abu Dhabi Barza and Sayel bin Rabaa of Code Red Events and Exhibitions Company.HE Mohammed Omar Abdullah, Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development in a speech delivered on his behalf at the press conference by His Excellency Ghanem Mohammed Al Fendi Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of Supporting Services Sector, expressed hope that Abu Dhabi Barza will achieve its objectives an Annual Forum in the holy month of Ramadan, which is a religious and social occasion for decision-makers, senior officials and staff to meet at the same table for dialogue and discussion of all that concerns our beloved country. His Excellency said that the Department of Economic Development, based on its leadership and pioneering role for achieving the highest rates of growth and sustainability for the economy of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and implementing the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030; and in accordance with its duties and responsibilities set by the Law No. 2 of 2009, envisions Abu Dhabi Barza in this holy month as an annual platform for all government agencies and strategic partners for dialogue, debate and exchanging views, around one table in the convivial social atmosphere. “Our meeting today comes out of our faith that we walk together on the path of a single aim to enable the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to achieve the goals and objectives of our government and the implement its strategies and vision, HE was quoted as saying.According to the Undersecretary of the Department Abu Dhabi Barza which is scheduled for launching next Tuesday at the Exhibition Center in Abu Dhabi, aims mainly to activate the communication between government, semi-government entities and strategic partners in addition to being the platform for these government agencies to express their views on issues and topics of interest to the community of Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general. He explained that this Barza, also aims at highlighting the most important economic and social projects implemented by the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and to further prosperity provide a decent life for citizens. His Excellency Mohammed Omar Abdullah, at the end of the speech delivered on his behalf, expressed his thanks and appreciation to all those who participated in and contributed to the organizing this event, which embodies the spirit of Ramadan and strengthens communication and integration between government entities and all strategic partners; wishing success for all. For his part, HE Butti Ahmed bin Butti Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Statistics Center- Abu Dhabi confirmed that the Centre's participation in the activities of Abu Dhabi Barza, which is organized for the first time in the Emirate during the holy month of Ramadan, provides a good opportunity to meet a large number of leaders, managers and decision makers in the Emirate. HE Butti, said that the participation of the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi comes in preparation for the completion of a number of major statistical projects which will have a significant impact on the development strategies in the Emirate, and perhaps the most important project, will be Population Census of Abu Dhabi 2011, as it will offer the latest most comprehensive database on the entire population, including citizens and residents, on the territory of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Butti Al Qubaisi in his speech emphasized that SCAD will participate in all days and events of Al Barza, with the focus next Wednesday on highlighting Abu Dhabi Census 2011 objectives, mechanisms, and preparations, stressing on the nature of the cooperation required from all in the implementation of the Centre's projects, most notably the census and field surveys. Al Qubaisi emphasized SCAD’s keenness and interest in supporting and activating communication and cooperation with all government entities and private agencies, participants and non participants in the Al Barza, calling on media to shed light on all the events included in the Al Barza program, in support of development projects and programs of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. HE Hussain Al Kathiri, the Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, in a speech at the press conference thanked the Department of Economic Development for launching the Abu Dhabi Barza initiative, which would enhance communication between citizens, residents, institutions and Government Departments. Al Kathiri said: Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council will contribute through “Quality Infrastructure and its Contribution to Achievement of the 2030 Vision, planned on August 16, where the Council during that evening will focus on its objectives, services and future plans. Al Kathiri expressed the keenness of Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council to achieve the goals set for it to develop the quality infrastructure, which in turn enhances the active participation of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the global economy. The Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, Hussain Al Kathiri, said that developed economies, which have highly technical Quality infrastructure compatible with the best international standards, work to achieve best results in the areas of safety and consumer protection, through the interaction of elements of quality infrastructure, integration of specifications and accredited laboratories, matching programs, and systems specialized in standards and market surveys.
Magda Al Hammadi, Communication Management Team Coordinator at the Department of Economic Development, Chairperson of the Executive Committee for Organizing of Abu Dhabi Barza, started the press conference by highlighting the goals Al Barza and the role of the strategic partners, participating in the activities of the five- sessions and meetings, referring to the first opening session scheduled next Tuesday devoted for discussing the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and the role of society in achieving its goals. HE Abu Bakr Abdullah Al-Amoudi, the Executive Director of the Statistics Sector of (SCAD) focused on the second session in which the Statistics Center Abu Dhabi will highlight Abu Dhabi Census 2011, and the projects carried out by the Centre and the most importantly the field surveys; emphasizing the importance of the participation of strategic partners in this meeting in order to enrich the discussions and views, to come up with best recommendations that will enhance of the Centre's role in providing the data and statistics on the level of the Emirate. HE Anas Barghouthi concentrated on the most important issues that will be presented by Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council at the third session scheduled on August 16, devoted to shed light on the role of quality infrastructure and its contribution to the achievement of 2030 Vision in the participation of a large number of government and private sector partners.
