Researched on the ground over a period of seven months, The Oil Gas Year, Abu Dhabi 2010 brings together interviews, articles and resources covering all aspects of Abu Dhabi’s oil and gas industry, and is a platform from which leading energy executives can communicate their messages to their peers.At his speech during the launch event, H.E. Mohamed Omar Abdullah, undersecretary of the department of economic development said: “For Abu Dhabi, diversification means expanding into industries in which the Emirate already has, or can easily attain, a competitive advantage”.
He added: “The historical advantages in the oil and gas sector, enables Abu Dhabi to move down the value chain of its largest existing industry, to establish new, higher value economic sectors.”
H.E. concluded: “The bottom line is: energy will continue to form a significant part of Abu Dhabi’s GDP well into the future, even as the economy diversifies”.
And he stated: “They have done a great job, and we at the DED are delighted to be part of this initiative”.
