Abu Dhabi Department of Eeconomic Development coordinates UAE participation of 24 public and private entities in Hannover Fair 2013

Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development will participate during period 8 to 12 April in Hannover Messe 2013 with a pavilion of 24 government entities, industrial companies and exporters operating in the UAE.H.E. Hamad Abdullah Al Mass, Executive Director of International Economic Relations said that the participation of Abu Dhabi Emirate in the European international industrial Fair for the sixth year in a row, reflects the depth of economic relations with the Federal Republic of Germany, which had recently been entrenched by official visits of high-level delegations and joint economic forums and seminars that were organized in both countries, the latest of which was the Abu Dhabi-Berlin Forum held last February.Hamad Al Mass noted that Abu Dhabi aims through continued participation in the Hannover Messe International Fair to reflect the keenness, orientation and efforts of the Government of Abu Dhabi to the development the industrial sector, by creating partnerships with major international companies in this strategic sector, furthering transfer of knowledge and attracting investments associated with the industrial sector.The Hannover Fair is one of the main Specialized  fairs in fields of industrial innovation and technology, as it involves more than 6,000 exhibitors, and is visited by more than 200, 000 people over the five days show. Al Mass added that the Hannover Fair theme this year is Integrated Industry, as it will focus on the integration of continuous technological industries among all the different areas.H.E Al Mass said that Hannover Fair attracts ministers, decision makers and senior officials in many countries of the world, in industrial and economic sector as well as business, industrial investors and venture capitalists. It also provides a broad base of buyers, and parties interested in keeping abreast of latest developments, new partners, service providers and market suppliers. Al Mass added that 63.9% of the trade fair visitors last year, were senior managers of industrial firms and large investments from around the world.Al Mass emphasized that Hannover Fair this year will provide an opportunity for participants from other Emirates to strengthen their technical and technological potential, to avail of the latest machines and equipment and industrial, technical and technological systems, described by industrial experts as the fourth industrial revolution.Hamad Al Mass explained that the participation of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates in general in the Hanover Industrial Fair, has evolved significantly over the past five years, as the UAE pavilion area increased from 90 square meters to 1,000 square meters, while the number of participating entities jumped from 6 to 24 partners. The number of participants went up from 18 to 102 people, making the UAE pavilion one of the largest pavilions in the Fair. The participation of UAE changed from government participation to include private sector commercial, industrial establishments.The UAE has become in recent years an important trade partner for Federal Germany in the Middle East. Germany itself is one of the key trading partners of UAE. Abu Dhabi exports to Germany, increased by 29% in 2012 compared to the year 2011.The UAE currently is the first trading partner of Germany in the Middle East. Trade is steadily growing between the two countries, as it increased by120% between 2004 and 2011. More than 1,000 German companies operate in the UAE, and the German community exceeds 9,000 people. The volume of trade between Germany and the UAE went up from €3.9 billion in 2004 to about €8.5 billion in 2011, and German exports to UAE amounted to over €7 billion in 2011 .
