Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (DED) today honoured three of the Department’s Studies Directorate who won employee of the month award for October, November and December 2010 for technical, customer services and leadership categories.
Speaking at the event held at the DED to honour those employees, Moza Al Qubaisi, the Acting Executive Director of the Corporate Support Sector, stated that Employee of the Month programme is a quality and excellence-centric initiative that targets all employees, positions and duties. The event was attended by HE Ghanem Mohammed Al Fendi Al Mazroui, the CEO of DED’s Support Services.
“The national workforce at any entity is the backbone to achieve highest quality standards and corporate excellence. The DED is committed to continuously boosting its performance to achieve corporate development, optimize managerial and technical capabilities, and work towards promote and develop national skills in order to implement comprehensive quality principles embedded in standards of Abu Dhabi Award in Excellence in Government Performance.
“The fact that the Studies Directorate being awarded employee of the month in the last three months bears witness to the performance development in work, quality and excellence in the Directorate’s outputs that was positively reflected in award-grabbing employees who achieved that through a complete work system”, she added.
Al Qubaisi stressED that the DED strives through those programmes to continuously develop and streamline performance with an aim to achieve ideal and high quality entity by paying great attention to the human capital. “This programme stems mainly from DED’s 2008-2012 Strategy which is in turn incepted from Abu Dhabi Government Plan that calls for boosting the productivity of all employees through the support of senior management.”
“Such initiatives will undoubtedly instill the concepts of excellence and creativity in employees who, armed with excellent personality, behaviour and creativity enthusiasm, will focus on initiatives, use of state of the art technologies at work, manipulate available resources most proficiently and promote active leadership and management”, Al Qubaisi concluded. Mr. Rashed Ali Al Zaabi, Director of Studies Directorate, stated that the success of Employee of the Month Programmes lies in its ability to provoke employees to achieve the Department’s goals by defining the excellent performance, how it helps attain the overall values and objectives, whilst fueling the spirit of competitiveness and upscaling quality and performance in general.
“We are at the Studies Directorate are extremely proud and pleased that our employees have grabbed the highest number of Employee of the Month awards. This highlights how our employees understand and adopt quality principles and standards and endevour to streamline performance quality”, he added. Employee of the Month programme that aims to evoke employees to work harder, promote competitiveness at work, boost quality and performance, raise the feeling of belonging and importance of monitoring and assessment while encouraging the spirit of cooperation and team work spirit.
