DED signed an economic cooperation agreement with Zayed University

Abu Dhabi on June 5 The Department of  Economic Development in Abu Dhabi(DED) singed today a cooperation agreement with Zayed University aims to promote cooperation between the two sides in the areas of training and preparing graduate students for the labor market and provide job requirements in order to conduct economic studies and researches and to  exchange of mutual  experiences and organize  joint activities. The agreement was signed today by H.E. Mohammad Omar Abdulla, Undersecretary of DED and H.E. Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim , Vice President of  Zayed University, in the presence of a number of officials from both parties. His Excellency  Undersecretary of DED stressed  after the signing of the agreement  DED  keenness  on cooperation with Zayed University in the framework of enhancing communication and strategic partnership with academic institutions in U.A.E , particularly the Zayed University which considered  edifice academic works to supply the labor market with qualified national  cadres  who are able to bear their responsibilities in achieving the aspirations and visions   wise Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to build a sustainable economy based on knowledge. His Excellency added that  the DED,according to its responsibilities in achieving the economic vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi 2030 and in accordance to its strategic plans  is seeking to attract, qualify and develop the best talents to achieve special goals and objectives of  DED . He expressed his happiness in this strategic partnership with Zayed University, which will contribute to create more joint cooperation, particularly in the field of training and qualifying UAE nationals to the labor market and allow opportunity between two sides to carry out scientific studies and research, which aims to achieve sustainable economic development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. For his part, H.E. Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim , Vice President of  Zayed University, praised the central  and strategic role of  DED in achieving the visions and aspirations of the Abu Dhabi Government towards building a knowledge-based economy depends basically on qualified national cadre who will bear  responsibility to achieve these goals and aspirations. His Excellency pointed out that Zayed University is working on graduating qualified national cadres for the labor market and raise the level of education in several areas as well as developing performance and skills of graduates through summer training in the centers of the labor market, which is DED is considered one of the most important centers at government  level in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim said that this agreement was an ideal expansion for the growing and developing level of cooperation and coordination between DED and Zayed University in many areas and provides legal cover ,which on that basis the level of cooperation will be expanded and increased  between the two sides in many fields. According to the agreement the two sides agreed to develop appropriate training programs for  coaching  graduates  and evaluating them during the training period, allowing the opportunity to choose the best to work with the DED. The agreement  stressed on the importance of enhancing communication between the two sides across  Zayed University  which will provide DED the most important activities and events via e-link between them, beside the participation of students in the activities of the DED at both internal and external levels, including the associated economic and social objectives ,environmental ,recreational ,sporting and national objectives. The agreement  also included  organization of  university for scientific  training courses to the staff  of DED and open the way for employees to complete courses according to their specialization in DED ,in addition to allocating  special subscriptions for employees to take advantage of the services available at the university. They also agreed to strengthen cooperation in the setting up economic studies and researches and  to  exchange  mutual experience between them and  holding of  related conferences and workshops  according to   disciplines, functions and responsibilities of both sides. In order to achieve all the items contained in the  agreement , joint committee was formed  between the two sides to follow up the mechanism and implementing procedures through establishing working groups of both parties working on  the implementation and periodic evaluation of all that what  has been agreed upon between two sides.
