The Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi will organize three specialized seminars in areas of economic and social development this month, in coordination and cooperation with a number of related local and federal government entities.Mr. Rashid Ali Al Zaabi, Director of Studies Directorate, said such activities come under the annual program of the Directorate, which aims at strengthening partnership between government departments, organizations, ministries and semi government units, so as to contribute to the consolidation of outputs of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and its determinants, which charted the future of the emirate's economy. Al Zaabi emphasized the keenness of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi to participate in achieving the strategic objectives of the state and to contribute at the same time to the attainment of the goals of Abu Dhabi vision, and the implementation of policies for achieving sustainable development in the emirate in all fields. Al Zaabi said that the first seminar scheduled at the Economic Department on Wednesday, April 14, titled The Sources of Growth in Abu Dhabi ... Labor and Capital contribution, will be organized in collaboration with the Ministries of Economy and Labor. The seminar will shed light on the sources of economic growth in Abu Dhabi through the assessment of capital and labor. The second seminar under the patronage of HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the UAE General Women's Union, titled Towards the Empowerment of UAE Women in the Community … the Reality and Challenges, is due to be held on Monday, 19 April at the General Women's Union in collaboration with the General Women's Union, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy. The function will focus on women and their role in the economic and social development, and the means of empowering UAE women in the community.The third seminar, scheduled for Wednesday 28 April, at the Department of Economic Development, titled The Reality and Prospects for the Industrial Sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will be which shed light on the reality and the prospects for this vital sector. The seminar will be held in participation of the Ministry of Economy, the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Industrialists Union ; Al Zaabi said. The first function, titled The Sources of Growth in Abu Dhabi ... Labor and Capital contribution, will encompass the presentation of three working papers .The first working paper of the Studies Directorate, to be presented by Dr. Khalid Al Matrawy, the Economic Expert at DED, will focus on the assessment of the contribution of labor and capital in the GDP of Abu Dhabi. The second paper, by His Excellency Mohammed Saleh Shalwah, the Executive Director of the Policy Sector of the Ministry of Economy, deals with the issue of development and emaratization, and highlights the issue of economic development in relation to the development of human resources. Dr. Zain Al-Sharif, Director of Standards and Policies, at the Ministry of Labor, will deliver the third paper, which overview of the realities of labor in Abu Dhabi and its contribution in raising growth rates in UAE.
