DED launches Time to shine in Chinese

The Abu Dhabi department of economic development launched today the Chinese version of the book “time shine, Abu Dhabi vision to reality” in presence of diplomats and in collaboration with the Chinese embassy and the Chinese business council.In his inaugural speech, H.E. Mohammed Omar Abdulla, undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi department of economic development said: “18 months ago, we witnessed the launch of a very special book, entitled Time To Shine, Abu Dhabi Vision to Reality. It was a book talking about the success story of an emirate, built on the vision of wise leaders, to become one of the leading countries of the modern world.”He added that launching the book in Chinese is “a cultural breakthrough, coming with a strong message: Abu Dhabi which is rediscovering China through many venues, as stated by our Chairman H.E. Nasser Ahmed Al Sowaidi, wants, with this book, to be discovered by the Chinese communities”. He described the book as “a must read for our Chinese friends, so they can value what we have and what we are willing to achieve. They will know our culture, our history, our past, as well as having a glimpse to our future, and If we are to become among the 5 best governments in the world, as stated by our wise leadership through the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, then we need to convey this message to the world”.He concluded by thanking “all those who contributed to this successful edition, and especially our friends from the Chinese embassy and the Chinese business council, and of course to the publishers who strongly believe in this book and want to spread the word in as many languages as possible”. Then the Chinese charge d’affaires Li Lingbing conveyed the greetings of H.E. the Chinese ambassador Mr. Gao Yusheng and his congratulations to the department for publishing this book in Chinese, and said: “I am convinced that this book will deepen the knowledge of the Chinese readers about Abu Dhabi, its development pathway and its achievements in the economic and cultural fields, as well as her future plans, and would help in attracting more Chinese to Abu Dhabi, either to visit or to work and live, which will be mutually beneficial”.Then Mr. Yu Tao, the chairman of the Chinese business council revealed that there is a rapid growing and trade development between UAE and China , and that to date there are 3000 Chinese companies in UAE” which creates the need “to understand more about local policies, regulations, culture and customs”.He saw that the Chinese version of the book “will help Chinese companies and entrepreneurs to better understand the history of Abu Dhabi and UAE, to learn more about the Arabic culture and tradition, as well as helping improve the mutual understanding between Chinese companies and local companies, and help the Chinese community to be part of the social and economic development of UAE”.He concluded by saying: “on behalf of all the members of the Chinese business council and all the Chinese companies in UAE, we would like to express our appreciation to Abu Dhabi department of economic development for launching this Chinese book and hope to share more cultural information in the future”.Dedicated to the Emirate’s visionary attitude that has seen it emerge to global prominence as  an international investment and trade destination, Time to Shine acknowledges the remarkable achievements and legacy of Abu Dhabi’s leaders, citizens, visionaries and strategic partners who have had an input into the Abu Dhabi of today, whilst heralding its exciting future. Time to Shine has been co-authored by some of the very people who have  been involved in turning Abu Dhabi into one of the most important cities in the world.  Released in order to promote Abu Dhabi’s significance to the world, the book showcases the Emirate, while providing a unique platform to present the exciting plans that are underway - and planned for the future.
