HE Mohammad Omar Abdullah, Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi (DED), yesterday inaugurated the Middle East Industries Exhibition (MEMEX 2010) at Abu Dhabi International Exhibitions Centre.
The Department of Economic Development- Abu Dhabi is the strategic partner for this year’s Middle East Manufacturing Exhibition (MEMEX 2010) which takes place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) between November 28 and 30. Additionally, the Department will host 10 leading Abu Dhabi manufacturers in its stand. In a statement after touring the exhibition, HE Abdullah said that the support of the Department of Economic Development and its patronage to the Middle East Manufacturing Exhibition of MEMEX 2010 comes as part of the leading role of the Department in maintaining economic stability, sustainable development, and setting an ideal economic environment for local and international investors, pursuant to the perceptions of the judicious leadership of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He added: “What inspires us to support this vital event, is the endeavor of MEMEX to encourage and enhance industrial growth in the region, and raise the number of participants, industry leaders, major companies, suppliers, service providers and contractors”.On the reason for DED decision to participate in MEMEX, he said that this exhibition, as one of the international industrial events organized by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi annually, has a great international reputation, and enjoys great comprehensiveness and diversity in economic and industrial participating sectors, which represents an opportunity for the participants and businessmen in particular to take advantage from such gathering, where global industry leaders and major companies meet with suppliers and service providers. This is a great opportunity to make deals and partnerships with the participating manufacturers and companies, in addition to being also an opportunity to view the high-tech machinery, solutions and services of manufacturing industries. The diversity of the production base has been taken into consideration in the selection of factories participating in the exhibition, so as to make visitors and the outside world be aware of the diversity of the industrial and production structure in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
