The Abu Dhabi Business Center of the Department of Economic Development will issue one certificate for business license and Abu Dhabi Chamber membership the new unified certificate which bears the logos of the two entities aims at reducing procedures and shortening the time required for obtaining license and membership.This came in the memorandum of understanding signed by Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and Abu Dhabi Chamber, which enabled the activation of the recently introduced e-linkage between the two sides, to allow Abu Dhabi Business Center to issue a unified business license and Chamber membership in one certificate after completing all required procedures and documents.His Excellency Mohammed Omar Abdullah, Undersecretary of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, said that this initiative comes in the context of a package of initiatives which the Department applied to activate the role of the new Abu Dhabi Business Centre and enable it to achieve its objectives, as a one-stop-shop for all business transactions in Abu Dhabi, to enhance the competitiveness of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the business sector at the regional and international levels.H.E. noted that merging the membership of Abu Dhabi Chamber and the business license issued by the Abu Dhabi Business Center comes within the strategy of modernization and development implemented by the Department to strengthen the efficiency and increase the effectiveness of services rendered to the business sector, and intensify effective cooperation between all relevant government entities.H.E. Mohamed Omar Abdullah stressed the keenness of the Department to provide more facilities and implement initiatives across Abu Dhabi, to enhance the business and investment environment in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and enable the Business Center to achieve its strategic objectives of enhancing the Emirate’s, stance as an attractive business hub and with the best international ranking in the field of business competitiveness.The Undersecretary added that the Business Center is expected to play a strategic role, by shifting from a license issuing authority to assume greater responsibilities of developing the business environment and t activating the role of businesses in the private sector, to serve the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.H.E commended the outstanding cooperation between Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and Abu Dhabi Chamber, in the completion of the Business Center project, which was recently opened, and the activation of the e-linkage between the two sides, as part of the ongoing efforts to activate electronic linkages with all government entities involved in licensing procedures; thus permitting clients and businesses to access best services to complete all their commercial activities regarding licensing , information or services related to the boosting their businesses in the Emirate.H.E Mohammed Helal Al Muhairi, the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber emphasized the full support of Abu Dhabi Chamber to the efforts which Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development exerts to enhance the role of the private sector, within the process of comprehensive and sustainable economic development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.The e-linkage between ADDED and the Chamber aims to strengthen the role of Business Center in facilitating and shortening the licensing procedures in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Al Muhairi said that the Center is constitutes a point of attraction for private sector companies and establishment in and outside the Emirate, as a one-stop-shop, rendering consulting services, in connection with licensing procedures and formalities; and legal issues of practicing of all types of commercial and industrial activities that will contribute to advancing the overall development witnessed by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi under its sagacious leadership. Al Muhairi said that in implementing government guidelines in the Emirate, the Chamber of Commerce provides all forms of support to the maintain the success of e-linkages with the Business Center, and complete the unification of all transactions in one place, and unify license certificates issued by the Centre and Chamber membership under the logos of the two entities. Al Muhairi said that this system will reduce the number of procedures for licensing and save time and effort for companies, establishments, investors and clients inside and outside the UAE; and contribute to the success of their business ensure its continuity and makes the Emirate of Abu Dhabi an investment destination of choice for international companies and establishments. Al Muhairi stressed that the activation of e-linkage between the ADDED and the Chamber, comes to emphasize the depth of partnership between government and semi-government entities, and contributes to a prominent role in the process of comprehensive and sustainable development in the Emirate, aimed at upgrading the competitive business environment in the Abu Dhabi to the best and highest levels. In turn, Mr. Mohammed Rashid Al Rumaithi, the Executive Director of Commercial Affairs Sector, said that the e-linkage with Abu Dhabi Chamber makes it easy for customer to obtain approvals and licensing commercial transactions in one place.The Business Center was inaugurated on 27 February and till March 11, it completed 4437 transactions, including the issuance of 305 new business licenses, 110 cancellations of license, renewing of 2854 t licenses, amendment of 1136 licenses issuance of replacement certificates for 32 licenses.The e-linkage with all relevant government entities achieves a strategic goal for the Department of Economic Development, to turn the Abu Dhabi business center into a single business window for all transactions and procedures associated with licensing in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.Al Rumaithi praised the role of Abu Dhabi Systems Information Centre on the completion of e-linkages with eight government agencies, and its efforts to provide all forms of support to complete the linkages with the rest of concerned government entities, along with other Web services to provide a business environment up to international standards.The Department of economic Development seeks to strengthen partnership and maintain fruitful cooperation with all relevant government bodies, to streamline licensing procedures and provide a package of facilities and technical and legal services in trade, investment and business, in order to enable Abu Dhabi achieve advanced position within the World Bank rankings of best cities in the world for ease of doing business.The linking Abu Dhabi business electronically with government agencies will provide updated statistical data base and allows stakeholders access to data and information, conditions and decisions, laws and procedures on economic activity target.Al Rumaithi said that ADDED initiated electronic linkage to achieve the objective of the Business Centre to upgrade and raise electronic services provided by the Government of Abu Dhabi, to new heights of efficiency and effectiveness to save time and effort..About Abu Dhabi Center for business: Abu Dhabi Business Center was opened on 3 January 2013 in line with the objectives and parameters of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, for conducting all services relating to business procedures is a one-stop-shop for investors.
