Through the personnel services provided, the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi seeks to recognize the satisfaction level of all categories through suggestions and complaints. It intends to improve and develop the services quality and provide them in the best manner. Further, the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi attempts to measure the personnel awareness and their recognition to the services provided through their approach toward using of such services. It also always maintain an opened communication channel with the personnel in order to keep up with its strategy in protecting customers and consumers as well.
      
The Consumer Protection Section, Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, is the authority responsible for protecting of consumers and keeping them a wars of their rights and obligations. As a result, the Section, which is an affiliate of the Commercial Protection Directorate -  Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, Develops and implements consumer protection- related  plans, procedures and systems that guarantee secure and safe services and commodities. Further, it organizes many programs and awareness activities including the Annual Commercial Fraud Exhibition, the Gulf Consumer Protection Day held in March every year and various booklets and publications which are published in order to keep the consumers updated with their rights and obligations. Here are some of the consumer's rights and obligations:

Consumer Rights:

Safety: the right to be protected against any goods, production processes and services that may cause harm to their health or safety.
Awareness: the right to be provided with the facts that enable them to buy and consume in the appropriate manner.
Choice: The right to choose between various alternatives of goods and services that have competitive prices, as well as guaranteeing the quality thereof.
To be heard: their interests to be represented before governmental and non-governmental authorities, their opinions to be considered regarding the development of goods and services.
To Satisfy their basic needs: the consumers shall have the right to attain their necessary and basic goods and services such as food, clothing, accommodation, healthcare and education. ​
Compensation: the consumer shall have the right to a fair settlement for their legitimate claims including to be compensated for beguilement, bad quality goods, unsatisfactory services or other practices that may harm the consumer.
To be educated: the consumer shall have the right to gain the necessary knowledge and skills needed to perform the mindful examination for goods and services, to be aware of their basic rights and obligations, and how to use them through the sustainable awareness program. 
To Live in a healthy environment: the consumer shall have the right to live and work in a hazard-free environment.
